Role Overview
The Associate Director - Credit Risk will own the overall credit risk strategy for MobiKwik's lending business, defining the underwriting policy framework, building risk models, and ensuring regulatory compliance across the loan portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the overall credit risk strategy and underwriting policy framework for the lending business.
- Build, lead, and mentor a strong credit risk team spanning policy, analytics, and modeling.
- Oversee development and validation of credit risk scorecards and models across lending products.
- Ensure full regulatory compliance with RBI guidelines governing digital lending and credit risk.
- Partner with the executive leadership team on portfolio risk appetite and business strategy.
- Present risk metrics, portfolio health, and underwriting performance to senior leadership and the Board.
- Drive innovation in risk analytics, leveraging data and technology to improve underwriting accuracy.
- Represent the credit risk function in regulatory, audit, and rating agency engagements.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Extensive experience building and leading credit risk functions at scale.
- Exceptional strategic vision combined with strong quantitative/analytical capability.
- Excellent executive presence, with the ability to influence at the Board and regulator level.
- Proven people leadership skills, with experience building and leading senior risk teams.
- Deep expertise in RBI regulatory frameworks governing credit risk and digital lending.
Desired Experience
- 10+ years of overall experience, with substantial senior leadership experience in credit risk.

- Demonstrated experience owning underwriting policy and risk models at scale.
- Experience in NBFC, BFSI, or fintech lending strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA/quantitative postgraduate degree preferred.
