Operations Technology
Operations Technology develops and maintains systems in support of Morgan Stanleys global Operations , including (but not limited to) Settlements, Confirmations, Regulatory Reporting, Position Keeping, Corporate Actions processing and other post-trade functions. Operations Technology is a global organization that is client-focused and functionally aligned. Our organization is built to support our clients functional, regional and business-facing requirements while delivering innovative technology and ensuring plant and processing stability. The Firm operates at scale with up to 40 million trades processed on peak volume days and hundreds of billions of dollars of daily settlements with activity ongoing in multiple countries and currencies across the globe. There is a great breadth of financial products that our Operations plant handles across equity and fixed income, from cash products to complex derivatives and loans.

This is a Director position that develops and maintains software solutions that support business needs.

What Youll Do In The Role:
Team Profile
Global Settlements technology team has significant presence in Mumbai, Bengaluru, New York and Montreal. We are organized into Agile delivery teams closely aligned with Operations product owners, and there is an opportunity to directly see the business benefit of the solutions we develop through our close partnership with our stakeholders and users. We believe in the forward momentum and progress of technology and aim to harness the very best in new technology and systems design to deliver exceptional capabilities to our businesses.
Role
We are looking for a Senior Technical Engineer, preferably with exposure to Cloud Architectures & public cloud offerings. You will be part of a squad that understands business requirements from the users for each of the markets and contribute to the strategic Settlements platform build out as well as leverage the foundational technical components and applying customizations and testing.
Skills Required (essential):
What youll bring to the role:

• Hands-on with 5+ years experience
• Actively participate in the refinement sessions to ensure the requirements are clearly defined.
• Write clean, performant, scalable, testable, and reusable code and build automated tests.
• Guide more junior developers helping them to follow the best software development practices.
• Follow the best DevOps practices - create CI/CD pipelines, enable capturing telemetry, etc.
• Contribute to enhancing team standards and improving processes. Skills required (essential):

> Strong working knowledge of core Java, Spring-boot, and other Spring framework features.
> Experience with designing and implementing high volume messaging- and rest- based middleware.
> Experience with defining scalable database models (relational or others).
> Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
> Familiarity with cloud-based development principles.
> Fast learner and desire to constantly learn and improve.
> Strong oral and written communication skills.
> Bachelors Degree in computer science or in a related field.
Skills Desired (recommended):
> Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud.
> Experience with Angular.
> Familiarity with Kafka and Mongo DB.
> Prior experience in FinTech application development.
> Experience with working in a global delivery team.
