Principal Software Engineer, ITC

Who Youll Work With
You will be a part of the larger Global Technology organization working on Nikes internal Consumer Product & Innovation tools, part of our Engineering team and report to the teams Engineering Director. You will spend much of your time with Software Engineers in CPI Engineering and adjacent teams. You will also partner closely with other Principal Engineers, Solution Architects, Engineering Directors, 3D artists and Product Managers in both Product Innovation and other departments cross geographies.
Who We Are Looking For
Were looking for a Principal Engineer to solve complex software engineering problems supporting Nikes pursuit of delivering state of the art tools to our product developers and broader creation community. The candidate needs to be highly collaborative with peers, productive in a fast-paced development environment and have depth of native cloud software engineering experience.
What Youll Work On
If this is you, youll be working on the Consumer Product Innovation team and be one of the primary technical leaders on one of Nikes emerging technology platforms. In a typical week, half of your time will be spent leading by example to design, develop, operate, and integrate Nike and partner platforms and applications. The other half will be leadership responsibilities to drive technical priorities, define engineering best practices, collaborate with peers, and help to translate business problems into technical solutions.

• Excellent computer science fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures.
• 14+ years of software engineering experience as an individual contributor developing custom software.
• 5+ years hands-on experience implementing and supporting modern software
  

architectural principles and patterns (REST, domain-driven design, Devops, microservices, etc)

• 5+ years hands on experience with distributed cloud systems (node.js, EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, or Google Cloud/Azure equivalents)
• Experience with front-end web application technologies (javascript, CSS, html5, Vue, React/redux, etc.)
• Preferred: Deep familiarity with 3D content creation tools (e.g., Maya, Blender, Substance, Unity, Unreal) and 3D pipelines used in product design and digital twin workflows.
• Preferred: Experience integrating AI/ML solutions into creative or design tools.
• Continuous deployment and automated testing experience
• Excellent influencing, verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with multiple peers and cross- functional partners
