Our team is a vital part of the Data Office within Global IT, dedicated to building and expanding the enterprise GenAI platform for the entire organisation. We bring together GenAI Platform Engineers, AI Engineers, and integration specialists, working closely with colleagues from IT, Data, Security, and Lines of Business. Our mission is to shape the AI agenda by ensuring secure, responsible, and scalable access to GenAI and LLM capabilities, all while fostering strong partnerships across the business.

In this role you will make an impact

As a GenAI Platform Engineer, you will focus on designing, building, and operating our enterprise GenAI platform to enable secure and compliant use of large language models and AI agents. Your work will centre around platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, integration, and operational excellence. You will play a key role in promoting best practices for platform reliability, cost management, security, and responsible AI usage, ensuring our AI capabilities are robust and enterprise ready.

In addition, some of your key tasks will include:

• Designing, building, and maintaining the enterprise GenAI platform to enable secure access to LLMs and AI services.
• Implementing and operating LLM integrations, agent orchestration, agent frameworks, and supporting services.
• Developing and maintaining APIs, backend services, and workflows that provide GenAI capabilities to applications and business solutions.
• Establishing scalable patterns for authentication, authorisation, secrets management, logging, monitoring, and auditability.
• Implementing guardrails for responsible AI use, including data privacy, access control, content filtering, and traceability.

You will work closely with colleagues across IT, Data, Security, and Lines of Business, collaborating in a hybrid and agile environment to deliver impactful GenAI solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering, Data Science, AI, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud platform engineering, backend engineering, or similar roles.

Additionally, we expect you to have strong experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, backend development using Python or similar languages, and hands-on expertise in integrating and operating LLMs and GenAI services. Familiarity with scalable API design, MLOps concepts, infrastructure as code, and secure cloud architectures will be valuable, as will a basic understanding of data engineering and analytics platforms.

You will need to be fluent in spoken and written English and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Your ability to work effectively with stakeholders, collaborate across teams, and maintain a strong focus on quality and reliability will be essential for success in our global, multicultural environment.
