Job Description
- As a Backend Lead, you will leverage your technical expertise and hands-on development experience in client-facing roles, engaging with senior client stakeholders. Your projects will be focused on the capital market domain, serving a large scale of millions of daily active users. Operating within a high-performance computing environment, you will manage cloud-native applications handling real-time streaming data, as well as a web and mobile trading platform with numerous concurrent users.
Your key responsibilities will encompass designing, developing, and maintaining highly scalable backend systems within the Capital Market domain. You will be involved in solution architecting, design, effort and timeline estimates, and leading the implementation of AWS solutions and best practices to ensure security, scalability, and reliability. Managing a team of 4 to 6 developers, you will oversee code quality, code review processes, and provide mentorship to junior developers. You will take overall ownership of technical project planning, solutions developed, and deployment by the development team.
A significant aspect of your role will involve client communication, status updates, and stakeholder expectation management, particularly with clients" business and tech stakeholders. Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues, providing innovative solutions, and establishing strong practices around test-driven development and automating application delivery with robust CI/CD practices will also be part of your responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Masters (M. Tech., M.S.) or Bachelors degree (B.E. / B. Tech) in Computer Science or equivalent from reputed institutes like IIT, NIT preferred
- 4-6 years of overall experience with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and a strong technical background
- Experience in working with mid-size IT services companies is preferred
- Experience in domestic/international Capital markets, stock broking, mutual fund, stock exchanges, or investment banking is a plus
Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Node, Go Lang, Java, Python, .Net, or similar for backend development
- Knowledge in high-performance computing and optimization, including technologies like Kafka, RabbitMQ, WebSockets, Redis, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous
- Experience in writing and maintaining unit tests, functional tests, and CI/CD pipelines

- Knowledge of common technologies like REST web services, OAuth, JSON, XML, and SQL
- Expertise in AWS services, particularly in architecting and implementing solutions for large-scale projects
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Professional/Specialty certification) are beneficial
- Ability to think from a product mindset and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Hands-on experience in Designing, Coding, and release management
