About the Role :
We are hiring for a leading retail company and are looking for a seasoned finance professional to lead the Accounts Payable (AP) function. This role is critical in ensuring timely vendor payments, statutory compliance, and strong financial governance. The ideal candidate will bring proven leadership, deep AP expertise, and a passion for driving process improvements and automation.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Lead and mentor the AP team, overseeing daily operations.
2. Review and approve invoices, payment batches, and expense claims.
3. Ensure supplier payments are accurate and completed on time.
4. Reconcile vendor accounts, aged payables, and discrepancies.
5. Maintain proper transaction coding, including TDS/GST entries.
6. Monitor internal controls, compliance, and documentation standards.
7. Collaborate with procurement, finance, and business teams to resolve issues.
8. Manage TDS payments, GST filings, and statutory compliance.
9. Support audits, month-end close, budgeting, and reconciliations.
10. Drive process improvements and implement automation initiatives.
Skills & Qualifications :
1. Strong knowledge of AP processes, accounting controls, and ERP systems.
2. Proven leadership experience managing AP teams.
3. Expertise in vendor management, reconciliations, and payment governance.
4. Ability to thrive in high-volume, deadline-driven environments.
5. CA (Chartered Accountant - any attempt)
