Job Description

What role will you play in the team?

As a Canada Corporate Tax Analyst, you will be integral in preparing and analyzing corporate tax returns. You'll work closely with senior tax managers to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to Canadian tax laws, maximizing client benefits.

What you will do

You will handle various aspects of corporate tax compliance, including data collection, tax return preparation, and support with audits. Your work will ensure accurate and timely filing, contributing to our clients' financial health and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibility

  • Prepare and file Canadian corporate income tax returns (T2 forms) accurately and on time.
  • Analyze corporate financial data to identify tax planning opportunities and potential risks.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax provisions and related disclosures for financial statements.
  • Research and interpret Canadian tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Support senior tax managers in tax audits and controversy resolution.
  • Identify and document tax savings opportunities for corporate clients.
  • Prepare supporting documentation and schedules for tax filings.
  • Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and address tax-related inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate and organized client records in compliance with firm policies.
  • Stay updated on changes in Canadian tax laws and regulations through continuous learning and professional development.

Required Qualification and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Canadian corporate tax laws and regulations, including T2 forms.
  • Experience with tax preparation software (e.g., TaxCycle, Profile).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with tax planning strategies and optimization techniques.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
