Job Description

What role will you play in the team?
As a Canada Indirect Tax Analyst, you'll focus on Canadian sales taxes (GST/HST/PST/QST). You will support the team with research, compliance, and advisory services for Canadian indirect tax. This involves data analysis, return preparation and client interaction.
What you will do
You will prepare and file Canadian GST/HST, PST, and QST returns. You'll research indirect tax law, assist with audits, and communicate with clients, ensuring proper compliance.
Key Responsibility
  • Prepare and file Canadian GST/HST, PST, and QST returns accurately and on time.
  • Conduct research on Canadian indirect tax law and regulations to provide technical advice.
  • Assist with indirect tax audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Analyze financial data to identify potential indirect tax risks and opportunities.
  • Communicate with clients to gather information and answer questions related to indirect tax.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Canadian indirect tax legislation.
  • Assist with the development of indirect tax strategies and solutions.
  • Prepare indirect tax provision calculations and related documentation.
  • Support senior tax professionals with complex indirect tax projects.
  • Contribute to the improvement of indirect tax compliance processes.
Required Qualification and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 0-1 years of experience in Canadian indirect tax.
  • Knowledge of Canadian GST/HST, PST, and QST.
  • Experience with tax preparation software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of Canadian accounting principles.

A Day in the Life
