Job Description

What role will you play in the team? As a Canada Tax Reporting Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely tax reporting for our clients. You'll work under the guidance of senior analysts, focusing on Canadian income tax reporting requirements, helping clients meet their compliance obligations and contributing to the firm's reputation for excellence.

What you will do: Your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing Canadian income tax returns, assisting with tax provision calculations, and supporting the preparation of financial statement disclosures related to taxes. You will also assist in analyzing tax data and identifying potential tax risks and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review Canadian federal and provincial income tax returns for corporations and individuals.
  • Assist with tax provision calculations in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare financial statement disclosures related to taxes, including deferred tax assets and liabilities.
  • Analyze tax data and identify potential tax risks and opportunities.
  • Assist in the preparation of responses to tax authority inquiries and audits.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in Canadian tax laws and regulations.
  • Work closely with senior analysts to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting.
  • Maintain organized and well-documented workpapers.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the tax reporting team by providing support and assistance to colleagues.

Required Qualification and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 0-1 years of experience in Canadian tax reporting.
  • Knowledge of Canadian income tax laws and regulations.
  • Experience with preparing and reviewing Canadian tax returns (an asset).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other tax software applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
