Role- Pharma & Life Sciences (R&D Operations / Clinical Strategy / Life Sciences Consulting)

Role Overview

PwC is seeking highly motivated professionals with experience in Pharma & Life Sciences, Clinical Research, R&D Operations, Clinical Trial Strategy, or Healthcare Consulting to join our growing Sector Operations - Health team.

The selected candidate will support global consulting engagements focused on pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and life sciences organizations. The role involves conducting strategic analyses, supporting transformation initiatives, generating data-driven insights, and enabling operational excellence across the R&D and commercial value chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct primary and secondary research, market assessments, and competitive benchmarking.
• Analyze complex business problems and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Support client engagements involving R&D operations, clinical trial strategy, and life sciences transformation.
• Develop executive-level presentations, reports, and client deliverables.
• Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses using healthcare and life sciences data.
• Support portfolio management, resource planning, and business process improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with global teams and stakeholders across multiple workstreams.
• Leverage emerging technologies, analytics, and GenAI solutions to improve business outcomes.
• Participate in thought leadership, practice development, and knowledge management activities.

Preferred Capability Areas

R&D Operations & Strategic Planning

• Understanding of pharmaceutical and life sciences R&D operations.
• Knowledge of portfolio, resource, and financial management processes.
• Exposure to clinical trial management systems (CTMS, EDC).
• Understanding of R&D governance, reporting frameworks, and operational planning.
• Familiarity with clinical data standards, system integrations, and data migration processes.

Clinical Trial Strategy

• Experience supporting clinical trial design, study optimization, or clinical operations.
• Knowledge of protocol development, site selection, patient recruitment, and decentralized trials.
• Understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with clinical trial databases such as ClinicalTrials.gov and Trialtrove.

Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences Strategy

• Knowledge of the pharmaceutical and life sciences ecosystem.
• Experience with product launch strategy, market access, lifecycle management, and commercialization initiatives.
• Understanding of pharmaceutical pricing concepts such as WAC, ASP, AMP, and Gross-to-Net.
• Exposure to healthcare datasets including claims, EHR, and prescription data.
• Experience supporting analytics or AI-driven business transformation initiatives.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to synthesize large volumes of qualitative and quantitative information.
• Experience creating executive-ready presentations and reports.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Structured thinking and hypothesis-driven problem solving.
• Ability to work effectively in a global delivery model and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Technical Skills

• Working knowledge of Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot.
• Experience with Python, SQL, or statistical analysis tools.
• Knowledge of Tableau, Power BI, or other visualization platforms.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Understanding of AI/ML concepts including LLMs, RAG, predictive analytics, and intelligent agents.
• Exposure to Agile project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Experience with AI assisted rapid prototyping tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, v0, Codex)

Educational Qualifications

Candidates should possess one of the following:

• MBA from a reputed institution with specialization in Strategy, Healthcare, or Life Sciences.
• MPharm, MS Biotechnology, MS Pharmaceutical Sciences, or equivalent advanced Life Sciences degree.
• MBBS with MBA or equivalent management qualification.

What You Must Have

Candidates should possess one of the following:

• MBA from a reputed institution with specialization in Strategy, Healthcare, or Life Sciences.
• MPharm, MS Biotechnology, MS Pharmaceutical Sciences, or equivalent advanced Life Sciences degree.
• MBBS with MBA or equivalent management qualification.
• At least 2-4 years of experience
• Oral and written proficiency in English required
