UK VAT Compliance Trainee

What role will you play in the team?As a UK VAT Compliance Trainee, you will support senior team members in ensuring accurate and timely VAT returns for our UK-based clients. Key responsibility

• Prepare and submit UK VAT returns accurately and on time.
• Maintain detailed records of VAT transactions.
• Assist with resolving VAT-related queries from clients and HMRC.
• Support senior team members in VAT audits and investigations.
• Stay up-to-date with changes to UK VAT legislation.
• Reconcile VAT accounts.
• Identify potential VAT planning opportunities.
• Prepare client correspondence and reports.
• Contribute to team knowledge sharing and training initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.

Required Qualification and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

A Day in the LifeYou will start by reviewing client VAT data, prepare draft VAT returns, research VAT legislation to address specific issues, collaborate with team members, and submit VAT returns to HMRC. Then, you will handle a couple of audit support requests.
