Director Of Software Engineering

About the Role-

As our Software Engineering Director, you will play a pivotal role in driving technical excellence, fostering a culture of innovation, and delivering high-quality software solutions that align with our business objectives. You will oversee a team by providing technical leadership, mentorship, and career development opportunities.

Responsibilities-

Leadership and Team Management

• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the team
• Foster a collaborative, high-performing, and inclusive team environment that promotes innovation and continuous improvement
• Conduct regular performance reviews, identify training needs, and support the professional development of team members

Technical Excellence and Delivery

• Establish and champion engineering best practices, including Test Driven Development (TDD), code reviews, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD)
• Ensure adherence to standard Scrum methodologies: grooming, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and other Agile ceremonies
• Collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to understand requirements, define technical solutions, and ensure timely and high-quality delivery

Technical Strategy and Architecture

• Contribute to the technical roadmap and architectural decisions, aligning engineering efforts with business goals
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact and application within our technology stack

Operational Excellence

• Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track team performance, identify bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement
• Foster a culture of quality, security, and performance within the engineering team
• Contribute to the development and implementation of engineering processes and standards

Required Qualification & Skills-

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 15 years of progressive experience in software engineering, with a minimum of 5+ years in a leadership role
• 8+ years experience in full-stack application development
• 5+ years experience in cloud-based application development
• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing modular, distributed, and asynchronous systems
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with at least one LLM based framework (LangChain, LangGraph, LangSmith, LlamaIndex, Qdrant, etc.)
• Proven track record of successfully leading and managing engineering teams in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies, architectural patterns, and best practices
• Expertise in Test Driven Development (TDD), CI/CD, and other quality-focused engineering practices
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working with geographically distributed teams is a plus
