The Functional Employee Business Partner Consultant ensures accurate, reliable employee master-data integration across Workday, SAP MDG, SAP S/4HANA/ECC, and Concur. The role owns the functional integrity of employee records throughout their lifecycle, particularly the creation and maintenance of Employee Business Partners in SAP and their availability for downstream transactional and Travel & Expense processes.
Key responsibilities
Investigate, coordinate, and resolve incidents affecting employee data, interfaces, Business Partner creation, and downstream T&E or transactional processing.
Perform root-cause analysis, define workarounds where needed, and drive permanent corrective actions with HR, Finance, Master Data, SAP technical teams, and vendors.
Support testing, cutover, reconciliation, interface monitoring, knowledge documentation, and operational handover.
Required technical skills
Strong functional knowledge of SAP S/4HANA or ECC Business Partner, including Employee Business Partner concepts, roles, relationships, and lifecycle management.
Hands-on experience with SAP Master Data Governance (MDG), ideally for Business Partner master data.
Experience with Concur Travel & Expense employee-profile integration and maintenance.
Working knowledge of interface troubleshooting, including APIs, IDocs, middleware, error handling, and data replication.
Strong data analysis, reconciliation, and defect-triage skills; familiarity with SAP data structures and reporting is beneficial.
· Practical understanding of Workday employee/master-data processes and outbound integrations is a plus.
Required experience
Proven experience as a functional SAP HR/Finance, Master Data, or Business Partner consultant.
Demonstrable delivery and support experience integrating Workday with SAP S/4HANA/ECC and/or SAP MDG.
Hands-on experience managing and resolving production incidents in integrated HR and finance landscapes, including impact assessment, prioritisation, stakeholder communication, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action tracking.
Experience monitoring employee-data interfaces, resolving failed or incomplete records, and coordinating fixes across functional, technical, and vendor teams.
Experience supporting employee master-data processes in a global, complex enterprise environment.
Track record of translating business requirements into functional specifications, test scenarios, operational support processes, and clear support documentation.
