About the role

We are looking for an experienced and analytical Adviser - Asset Management to lead Asset Management master data governance, data quality and continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert and Triage Lead across Asset Master Data and Asset Readiness disciplines, driving governance improvements, providing technical leadership and connecting day-to-day operations with strategic priorities defined by business stakeholders.

Success in this role will require strong leadership capability, stakeholder management, data governance expertise and the ability to influence continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will oversee master data governance activities, lead quality improvement initiatives, mentor team members, drive integration activities and provide expert guidance to business and technical stakeholders.

The role also requires the ability to analyse complex data issues, perform root cause investigations and influence decision-making through data-driven recommendations.

Scope

Your scope will include, but is not limited to, the following:

Master Data Governance and Service Delivery

• Oversee creation, maintenance and governance of Functional Locations (FLOC), Equipment Masters and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Manage complex master data discrepancies and coordinate resolution activities.
• Contribute data-driven reports and recommendations to support leadership decision-making.
• Provide governance oversight across Asset Master Data and Asset Readiness processes.
• Support effective service delivery through structured work allocation and triage management.

Continuous Improvement and Data Quality

• Drive data optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives using performance metrics and trend analysis.
• Coordinate defect elimination and corrective action activities.
• Lead large-scale data integration and transformation activities.
• Develop and implement data quality improvement strategies.
• Conduct advanced root cause analysis on complex master data issues and process failures.
• Coordinate cross-functional improvement initiatives across systems and stakeholders.

Compliance, Controls and Governance

• Design and implement governance solutions aligned with Asset Master Data and Asset Readiness standards.
• Ensure data consistency, traceability and compliance across systems.
• Lead master data quality and governance activities spanning ERP, MDM and CRM platforms.
• Assess and communicate the downstream impact of non-compliant master data on maintenance performance, safety and business costs.
• Support governance compliance through audits, controls and reporting activities.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as the primary technical liaison between business and technical teams.
• Provide expert guidance on master data configuration, governance and maintenance practices.
• Validate delivery approaches with global stakeholders and operational teams.
• Communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Develop trusted stakeholder relationships and influence business decisions through data-driven recommendations.

Team Leadership and Development

• Provide technical guidance and coaching to Band L and Band K team members.
• Act as Triage Lead and support efficient workload distribution.
• Identify development opportunities and drive structured upskilling programs.
• Mentor team members on master data governance, quality management and Asset Readiness requirements.
• Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing and continuous learning across the team.

About yourself

We are looking for candidates with:

• A Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree.
• 5 to 7 years of engineering experience, or 5 to 7 years of experience in Master Data Management or Data Governance.
• Strong knowledge of Asset Management principles and SAP platforms.
• Experience managing work allocation and triage processes.
• Demonstrated capability leading governance, quality improvement or transformation initiatives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication capability.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop team members.
• Advanced understanding of maintenance master data concepts including Functional Locations, Equipment Masters and Bills of Materials.
• Strong decision-making capability and ability to work independently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
