Senior Equity Research Analyst - Software Sector

About the role:
For professionals who enjoy going beyond financial statements and understanding what truly drives a business, there is an exciting opportunity within a global investment firm's Financial Research function, known for its deep research culture, intellectually rigorous environment and close partnership between research and investment teams.
The team is expanding across Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Gurugram, with a focus on Fundamental Equities covering Software, Payments and broader Technology sectors.
What makes this role interesting?:
You will work closely with investment teams to evaluate businesses, develop differentiated investment views and support real investment decisions. The work will involve:
- Fundamental research on software, technology and payments companies
- Developing a deep understanding of business models, competitive positioning and growth drivers
- Evaluating Enterprise Software, Vertical Software, SaaS, FinTech, Payments, IT Services and other technology businesses
- Building detailed financial models and valuation frameworks
- Analysing company financials, operating metrics, unit economics and valuation multiples
- Conducting detailed peer benchmarking across financial and operational metrics
- Tracking earnings, company developments, industry trends, news flow and external research
- Identifying key themes, business inflection points, opportunities and risks
- Developing investment theses and differentiated perspectives
- Preparing investment memos, research notes and analytical presentations
- Engaging with management teams, sell-side analysts, intermediaries and sector experts
- Supporting idea generation and ongoing investment discussions with senior stakeholders
Who would be a good fit?:
We are particularly interested in professionals with strong experience in:

- Equity Research, Fundamental Research, Investment Research, Investment Analysis
- Buy-Side / Sell-Side Research, Asset Management, Investment Banking
- Strong hands-on experience in Financial Modeling and Valuation
- Sector expertise in Software, SaaS, Enterprise Software, Payments, FinTech, IT Services, Cybersecurity, AI, E-commerce, HealthTech or EdTech
- Candidates with 6+ years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply
- MBA Finance, CFA, CA or relevant Finance qualification preferred
