Tax Associate 2 - State & Local Tax, Asset Management

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for completion of state tax compliance for pass-through entities (Asset Management/Investment Fund clients). 
• Analyze and review information provided by the client and US/US Integrated engagement teams before, during and after preparation. 
• Coordinate with RSM US and US Integrated engagement teams in getting the assigned work done. 
• Prepare extensions, estimates, withholding and composite tax calculations, and associated state return filings. 
• Research and resolve technical state and local tax issues. 
• Prepare state matrices and other client deliverables. 

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Commerce, Accounting or related field (B.Com/BBA/M.Com/MBA)
• Minimum 1 year experience in US taxations domain (preferably worked for 1 or 2 busy seasons in the skillset of respective capability as need for the business)
• Preferable Enrolled Agent / Certified Public Accountant
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to meet client service, quality, and performance expectations within applicable deadlines and in accordance with firm and client standards
• Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with firm personnel and clients in person, by telephone, and through electronic or written means in English
• Effective project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy and quality of work in a fast paced, client service environment
• Ability to work effectively in a professional office environment and, as required by the role, at client sites, including the ability to sit for extended periods of time and work at a computer and other standard office equipment
• Ability to maintain consistent, onsite presence during core business hours including the ability to regularly report to a firm office location and travel to client sites as required, including access to reliable transportation
• Ability to work extended and/or non standard hours during peak periods or as necessary to meet client, project, or firm business needs
