Accounts Payable Executive – Finance

<p>The <strong>Accounts Payable Executive – Finance</strong> role is part of Sage’s <strong>Global Services Finance Accounts Payable Team</strong>. The team is responsible for supporting the wider Finance function by ensuring the accurate processing of supplier invoices, timely payments, and effective management of accounts payable activities. The role plays a critical part in maintaining strong supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and supporting the organization’s financial operations through efficient and accurate transaction processing.</p><hr><h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><ul><li><p>Execute and support established Accounts Payable processes, controls, and procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and financial standards.</p></li><li><p>Accurately process supplier invoices in <strong>Epicor</strong> and ensure purchase orders are correctly matched with related invoices through <strong>Proactis (P2P)</strong> in accordance with Sage service standards.</p></li><li><p>Prepare draft payment runs and refund payments for review and approval.</p></li><li><p>Maintain and update supplier and customer master data, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of records.</p></li><li><p>Perform supplier statement reconciliations and investigate, resolve, and clear reconciling items in a timely manner.</p></li><li><p>Adhere to agreed Accounts Payable month-end close schedules and ensure all activities are completed within defined timelines.</p></li><li><p>Respond to supplier inquiries and resolve payment and invoice-related queries within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Sage to effectively resolve invoice, payment, and account-related issues.</p></li><li><p>Support management in implementing new processes, systems, and controls, while actively contributing to process improvement initiatives.</p></li><li><p>Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and service quality within the Accounts Payable function.</p></li><li><p>Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements.</p></li></ul><hr><h2>Skills, Knowledge &amp; Competencies</h2><h3>Functional Knowledge &amp; Skills</h3><ul><li><p>Strong understanding of Accounts Payable processes and financial transaction management.</p></li><li><p>Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls.</p></li><li><p>Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in data processing and reconciliation activities.</p></li><li><p>Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.</p></li><li><p>Effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.</p></li><li><p>Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.</p></li><li><p>Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.</p></li><li><p>Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders.</p></li><li><p>Proactive approach to identifying process improvement opportunities and driving operational efficiency.</p></li></ul><hr><h2>Qualifications &amp; Experience</h2><ul><li><p>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.</p></li><li><p>1–2 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, Accounts Payable, or a related finance function.</p></li><li><p>Understanding of double-entry accounting principles and familiarity with <strong>US GAAP</strong> and/or <strong>International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)</strong> is preferred.</p></li><li><p>Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as <strong>Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, SUMIF/SUMIFS</strong>, and data analysis techniques.</p></li><li><p>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint.</p></li><li><p>Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) platforms (e.g., Proactis) is desirable.</p></li><li><p>Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with changing priorities.</p></li><li><p>Prior experience in a shared services or global finance environment would be an advantage.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion</strong></p><p>At Sage we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team that is representative of all sections of society and to sustaining a culture that celebrates difference, encourages authenticity, and creates a deep sense of belonging.
