Role Description The Head of Department (HOD) will lead and manage one of the academic departments (Engineering, Hotel Management, Commerce, Biotech, or Education) at Sanjay Rungta Group of Institutions. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bhilai, focused on academic leadership, curriculum oversight, faculty coordination, and student support. Daily responsibilities include planning and monitoring academic activities, ensuring adherence to institutional and regulatory standards, mentoring faculty members, and facilitating effective teaching and learning practices. The HOD will oversee department-level budgeting, resource allocation, and collaboration with administrative teams, while encouraging industry linkages, research initiatives, and quality enhancement. The role also involves addressing student queries, maintaining high levels of service within departmental offices, and supporting events, workshops, and outreach activities.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and reception skills, including the ability to address student, parent, and stakeholder queries professionally and efficiently.
• Experience with budgeting, resource planning, and department-level financial oversight to ensure effective utilization of funds.
• Knowledge of sales and outreach activities, such as promoting programs, building institutional partnerships, and supporting admissions-related initiatives.
• Understanding of food & beverage operations and hospitality standards, particularly relevant for candidates leading Hotel Management or related departments.
• Advanced degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Hotel Management, Commerce, Biotech, Education, or related field), with prior academic or industry experience.
• Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to guide faculty, staff, and students toward shared academic goals.
• Familiarity with academic regulations, accreditation requirements, and quality assurance processes.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in using educational and office productivity tools.
