Role Overview:

The Finance Manager will support the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in overseeing the financial operations of the company. This role requires a strategic thinker who can provide financial insights, assist in financial planning, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will work closely with the CFO and the executive team to support the companys financial stability and growth.

Responsibilities:

1 Financial Strategy and Planning:

  • Assist the CFO in developing and executing the companys financial strategy.
  • Support the executive team in setting financial goals and objectives.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business strategy and decision-making.

2 Financial Reporting and Compliance:

  • Support the preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
  • Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders regarding financial reporting and compliance.

3 Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist in leading the budgeting process and providing regular financial forecasts.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget and forecasts.
  • Implement corrective actions to address variances.

4 Risk Management:

  • Identify and assist in managing financial risks including market, credit, and operational risks.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard the companys assets.
  • Ensure robust insurance and risk management policies are in place.

5 Treasury and Cash Management:

  • Assist in overseeing the companys cash flow and liquidity management.
  • Support relationships with banks and financial institutions.
  • Help optimize the companys capital structure and financing arrangements.

6 Investment and Capital Allocation:

  • Evaluate investment opportunities and manage capital expenditures.
  • Assist in overseeing mergers, acquisitions, and other financial transactions.
  • Ensure efficient allocation of resources to maximize return on investment.

7 Team Leadership and Development:

  • Support the leadership and mentoring of the finance and accounting team.
  • Foster a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and accountability.
  • Develop and implement training and development programs for finance staff.

8 Stakeholder Relations:

  • Communicate financial performance and strategy to the Board of Directors, investors, and other stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with shareholders, analysts, and the financial community.

Who should apply

Must have:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree in finance is preferred.
  • Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in finance, with progressive responsibility.
  • Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and analysis.
  • Proven track record of supporting financial operations in a large or mid-sized organization.
