Role Description The Counsellor role at SkillEcted is a full-time, on-site position based in Nagpur. The Counsellor will engage with prospective and current learners to understand their career goals, explain relevant programs, and recommend suitable courses and learning pathways. Daily responsibilities include conducting one-on-one counselling sessions, responding to enquiries, guiding learners through admissions and onboarding processes, and maintaining accurate records of interactions and follow-ups. The role also involves collaborating with trainers and administrative staff to ensure learners receive timely support, organizing information sessions or orientation programs, and providing ongoing motivation and guidance to help learners stay on track. The Counsellor is expected to uphold a learner-centric approach and contribute to continuous improvement of counselling processes and materials.

Qualifications

• Strong counselling and guidance skills, with the ability to assess learner needs, clarify career goals, and recommend appropriate courses and pathways.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening, empathetic conversations, and clear, professional spoken and written English.
• Organizational and administrative skills, such as maintaining accurate records, managing appointments, and following up on enquiries in a structured manner.
• Basic understanding of technology and modern career paths in areas like software development, data analysis, business analysis, and digital marketing to advise learners effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teaching and operations teams, contribute ideas for improving learner support, and adapt to a dynamic educational environment.
• Previous experience in academic counselling, career guidance, student support, or related roles is preferred.
• Bachelors degree in Psychology, Education, Management, or a related field is beneficial; relevant certifications in counselling or career guidance are an advantage.
