What The Role IsWe are looking for a hands-on Staff Accountant to join our growing Finance team, who is detail oriented, adaptable and ready to roll up their sleeves. At its core, this job will be an instrumental contributor to enhancing the accounting and process needs for our growing organization. In this new role, you will have a unique opportunity to be a direct contributor to Socure’s developing finance and accounting function. This is an ideal position for an individual who thrives in a fast paced environment, and working at a high-growth startup.This is a full time role reporting into our Accounting Manager and will be located in Chennai, India or remote within India.
What You'll Do

• Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization


• Maintains the general ledger, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations of various GL Accounts


• Verifies and payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts


• Analyze all accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to ensure payment accuracy


• Work collaboratively with various departments to perform accounting audits


• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit


• Additional ad-hoc projects as assigned

What You'll Bring

• 2-4 years of general accounting experience


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail


• Knowledge of general ledger accounting such as cash, accruals, and prepaids


• Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial statement presentation


• Highly self-motivated, a flexible team player, and is able to operate independently


• Excellent knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookup, and ability to collaborate with the team through Google Sheets


• Have time flexibility to work with US team on EST time zone as needed

Nice To Have

• Experience with ERPs (we use Netsuite)
