Overview:
As a Senior Accountant of Billing and Revenue Accounting, you will be responsible for customer billing and revenue recognition while ensuring compliance with reporting requirements under U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP). The position is critical to Socure’s success and will need to interact effectively with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Revenue Operations, Legal, and FP&A. You will be responsible for ensuring that revenue is accurately recognized in accordance with applicable accounting standards and guide the setting of company revenue policies. To be successful in this role, you must have a strong knowledge of order-to-cash processes and software revenue recognition accounting under ASC 606, an ability to interpret complex revenue arrangements, and communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders. We are looking for someone who has excellent problem-solving skills and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment to support the company’s continued success and growth.
Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and scaling of the revenue accounting and billing team
• Manage the month-end billing and revenue close process
• Ensure contracts with customers are reviewed for appropriate revenue recognition and all conclusion are sufficiently documented
• Provide support and guidance to Sales, Legal, and Revenue Operations with contractual language in new contracts and amendments, including understanding of financial and accounting implications
• Maintain revenue policies and processes. Update and enhance existing policies and procedures where appropriate.
• Review existing processes and evaluate future changes required to ensure the most efficient and effective means for billing and revenue recognition
• Take a leading part in the external audit and liaise between the audit team and the internal team for all matters related to revenue accounting
• Lead efforts to create a streamlined and automated revenue recognition process, which includes identifying opportunities to reduce the time to complete the monthly close
• 
  Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement and ensure the effectiveness of all internal controls governing the billing and revenue function
• Assist with special projects and analysis as needed
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelors in Accounting or related field
• 4+ years of combined Public Accounting and SaaS Industry accounting experience (Big 4 experience preferred, but not required)
• CPA/CMA preferred
• ERP experience required (NetSuite preferred)
• A strong command of revenue accounting under ASC 606 (SaaS Industry)
• Self-starter who task ownership of important tasks
• Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a high-performing team
• Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions
• Audit and general accounting experience with a focus on revenue recognition desired
• A solid understanding of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting
