J_1298 - Mechanical Product Engineer (Creo)
Job Description
- Develop and evaluate fuel system component design concepts based on functional, performance, packaging, reliability, manufacturability, and cost requirements.
- Create, modify, review, and release 3D CAD models, component drawings, and assembly drawings using Creo.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, ensuring proper application of GD&T, tolerances, datum schemes, fits, and clearances.
- Define materials, surface finishes, dimensional tolerances, and engineering specifications.
- Conduct design reviews, Design Quality Reviews (DQR), and identify risks related to design, manufacturing, assembly, serviceability, and reliability.
- Manage drawing release, engineering changes, configuration management, and product documentation.
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to resolve design and manufacturability challenges.
- Support prototype build activities, validation planning, testing, data collection, and analysis.
- Participate in failure investigations using root cause analysis and implement design improvements based on findings.
- Prepare technical reports documenting validation results, engineering conclusions, risks, and recommendations.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Sourcing, Validation, and Suppliers.
- Engage with global engineering stakeholders, lead technical discussions, communicate risks and recommendations, and ensure timely closure of engineering actions.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or related discipline.
- 3 to 4 years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Strong fundamentals in mechanical design and engineering principles.
- Proficiency in engineering drawing creation, interpretation, and review.
- Good working knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, fits, clearances, and datum selection.
- Hands-on experience with Creo for 3D modelling and 2D drawing development.
- Understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, surface finish requirements, and assembly interfaces.
- Experience with PLM systems, engineering change management, drawing release, and configuration management processes.
- Working knowledge of DFMEA, design reviews, and product development methodologies.
- Experience supporting prototype builds and validation activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and failure investigation techniques.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work in global and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage assignments independently while maintaining high attention to detail and engineering quality.
- Experience in fuel systems, automotive, or industrial engine products is preferred.
- Exposure to global engineering teams and suppliers would be an added advantage
