Associate Director - Loan Operations

Role overview:

The Director, Loan Operations leads the syndicated and private loan servicing function supporting Advent Geneva and fund administration clients. The role is accountable for accurate and timely processing of agent notices, trade settlement, position and cash reconciliation, and daily controls, and acts as the senior escalation point for clients, custodians, and agents.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a team of loan operations analysts and managers across shifts and locations.
• Own daily processing of agent notices (rate sets, paydowns, splits and combines, restructures) and ensure bookings are correct and on time.
• Oversee trade settlement through ClearPar and LSTA/LMA documentation, including open trade and delayed compensation tracking.
• Own position and cash reconciliation against trustees, custodians, and prime brokers, and drive break resolution to closure.
• Maintain and strengthen the control framework: daily checks, exception reporting, KPI and SLA reporting, audit and SOC support.
• Manage client relationships, run service reviews, and handle escalations with clients, agents, and internal partners.
• Partner with technology and product on automation, STP improvement, and platform enhancements (SS&C Loans, Geneva).
• Lead client onboarding and migrations, including data conversion and go-live support.
• Manage capacity, hiring, performance reviews, and succession planning for the function.

Required experience and skills:

• 12+ years in loan operations or fund administration, with at least 5 years leading teams.
• Deep knowledge of syndicated loan lifecycle, agent notice types, settlement mechanics, and loan accounting.
• Hands-on experience with Advent Geneva, SS&C Loans or a comparable loan platform, ClearPar, and Bloomberg or ICE loan data.
• Strong control mindset and experience with reconciliations, audits, and regulatory or client due diligence.
• Excellent client communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience delivering process automation or operational change is a plus.
