MERN Stack Engineer (S03/S04)

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js.
• Build robust RESTful APIs and backend services using Node.js and frameworks such as Express.js, Koa.js, or similar.
• Develop responsive and user-friendly frontend applications using React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
• Design efficient database schemas and optimize queries across MongoDB and SQL databases.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms, including JWT, OAuth, and role-based access control.
• Understand and apply asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, error handling, and performance optimization techniques.
• Design applications with scalability, maintainability, security, and reliability in mind.
• Integrate third-party APIs, external services, and multiple data sources.
• Deploy and manage applications using AWS services and implement CI/CD pipelines.
• Apply DevOps practices using Docker, Kubernetes, and related deployment tools where applicable.
• Conduct code reviews, write maintainable code, and ensure adherence to engineering standards and best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Communicate technical updates, implementation approaches, risks, and dependencies clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 5–8 years of professional experience in software development, with strong expertise in Node.js and backend engineering.
• Hands-on experience with the MERN stack: MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and a good understanding of modern JavaScript features.
• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, Promises, async/await, event loops, and error handling.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs, backend services, and integrations with third-party systems.
• Good knowledge of MongoDB, database schema design, indexing, query optimization, and familiarity with SQL databases.
• Experience with React.js, component-based architecture, state management, and responsive UI development.
• Understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, and secure coding practices.
• Knowledge of application architecture, design patterns, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms for application deployment and hosting.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and frontend styling approaches such as SASS.
• Knowledge of testing practices, debugging, and code quality tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with TypeScript and modern frontend development practices.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and test-driven development.
• Experience with microservices, event-driven systems, caching, and message queues.
• Exposure to application monitoring, logging, and production troubleshooting.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
