Job Description
- We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytically driven Cost Accountant to join our Finance team at Coimbatore. The role involves end-to-end cost management across multiple plant operations, month-end closure activities, variance analysis, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and a solid understanding of manufacturing cost structures.
- Cost Management & Multi-Plant Operations:
- Manage and monitor product costing across multiple plant locations.
- Develop and maintain standard costs for raw materials, labour, and overheads.
- Conduct inter-plant cost comparisons and performance benchmarking.
- Track and analyse cost of production, cost of goods sold (COGS), and inventory valuation.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend corrective actions to management.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end close activities including journal entries and accruals
- Reconcile cost ledgers with the general ledger and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and review cost centre-wise expense reports and allocations
- Coordinate with plant finance teams to complete closure as per deadlines
- Prepare monthly MIS reports, cost sheets, and profitability analysis.
- Assist in preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis reports.
- Provide financial insights to support management decision-making.

- Qualifications & Eligibility:
- B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) / CMA Inter — from a recognised university.
- 1 to 5 years of relevant experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior exposure to multi-plant or multi-location operations is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis) is mandatory.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Tally Prime, Oracle, or equivalent.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Tamil.
