Job Role: Lead Commercial
Function: Finance
Job Details:
- Lead the Commercial Operations function for the Jewellery business by designing and governing scalable commercial processes, inventory controls, store finance operations, and compliance frameworks.
- Drive operational excellence, automation, risk mitigation, and stakeholder alignment across stores, supply chain, finance, technology, and external partners.
- Ensure commercial governance supports profitable business growth, inventory integrity, customer experience, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities, Outcomes & Performance Measures:
1. Commercial Operations Governance:
- Responsibilities: Design, standardize, and continuously enhance commercial operating processes across stores and franchisee operations; Establish strong governance frameworks to ensure inventory integrity, financial accuracy, and process compliance; Drive standardization of store commercial practices across regions and formats; Monitor process adherence and implement corrective actions where required.
- Expected Outcomes: Standardized commercial processes; Strong governance and control environment; Consistent execution of SOPs across locations.
- Performance Measures: Audit Closure Rate; Reduction in Process Exceptions; TAT of Corrective Actions.
2. Inventory & Store Commercial Controls:
- Responsibilities: Develop and monitor inventory control mechanisms to safeguard stock accuracy and minimize shrinkage; Drive periodic stock audits, reconciliations, and exception management; Ensure timely resolution of inventory discrepancies and control breaches; Partner with Supply Chain and Store Operations teams to improve inventory productivity.
- Expected Outcomes: High inventory accuracy and integrity; Timely reconciliation and discrepancy resolution.
- Performance Measures: Inventory Accuracy; Shrinkage Reduction; Audit Compliance.
3. Commercial Digitization & Automation:
- Responsibilities: Lead automation and digital transformation initiatives across store commercial operations; Partner with Business and Digital teams for implementation of POS, ERP, and commercial applications; Drive automated controls to minimize revenue leakages and improve operational efficiency; Define future-state commercial processes using technology-led interventions.
- Expected Outcomes: Reduction in manual interventions; Strong system controls and revenue assurance; Improved data visibility and decision-making.
- Performance Measures: Reduction in Manual Interventions; Process Cycle Time Improvements.
4. Risk Management, Audit & Compliance:
- Responsibilities: Establish robust controls and ensure adherence to manage operational, financial, and regulatory risks; Drive closure of internal and external audit observations within agreed timelines; Develop preventive control frameworks to avoid recurrence of control gaps.
- Expected Outcomes: Improved statutory and policy compliance; Strong risk awareness culture.
- Performance Measures: Audit Observations Closed; Risk Incidence Reduction.
5. Franchisee & Partner Commercial Management:
- Responsibilities: Oversee commercial governance for franchisee-operated stores; Ensure compliance with commercial policies, financial controls, and reporting requirements; Build strong partnerships with banks, payment partners, vendors, and external stakeholders; Resolve critical escalations impacting store operations or customer experience.
- Expected Outcomes: Strong commercial governance across franchise network; Improved partner compliance.
- Performance Measures: Stakeholder Satisfaction; Escalation Resolution Time.
6. Capability Building & Training:
- Responsibilities: Build commercial capabilities across stores through structured learning interventions; Drive training effectiveness for POS, inventory controls, audit readiness, and commercial SOPs; Institutionalize certification and compliance-based training programs.
- Expected Outcomes: Enhanced commercial capability across stores; Quick adoption of new processes; Reduced operational errors.
- Performance Measures: Training Completion Rate; SOP Compliance; Reduction in Process Errors.
7. People Management:
- Responsibilities: Drive a performance-driven culture in the team by reviewing performance parameters and providing feedback; Contribute to talent development by providing team members with adequate exposure and growth opportunities.
- Expected Outcomes: Improvement in team performance; Quality of feedback.
- Performance Measures: Team Performance Improvement; Employee Development & Engagement Metrics.
