Team Overview

Data Acquisition team is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Java Developer with 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Java technologies, microservices architecture, cloud platforms, and modern software development practices. The candidate will be responsible for delivering scalable, high-performance solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

Role Overview And Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance Java applications.
• Develop and implement RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot and related frameworks.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
• Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, architects, and QA teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Conduct code reviews and promote development best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues with a focus on performance and reliability.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and support DevOps initiatives.
• Lead the end-to-end java development for a region and deliver solutions as per the requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation, design specifications, and operational runbooks.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership within the team.

Required Knowledge And Experiences

Technical Skills

• 7-10 years of experience in Java application development.
• Strong proficiency in:
  • Java 8/11/17/21
  • Spring Framework
  • Spring Boot
  • Spring MVC
  • Spring Security
  • Hibernate / JPA
  • RESTful Web Services
• Experience with Microservices Architecture and API-driven development.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as:
  • Oracle
  • PostgreSQL
  • MySQL
  • SQL Server
• Experience with messaging technologies:
  • Kafka
  • RabbitMQ
• Familiarity with caching technologies such as Redis or Hazelcast.
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools:
  • Docker
  • Kubernetes / OpenShift
• Experience with cloud platforms such as:
  • AWS
  • Azure
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP) - Preferred
• Hands-on experience with build and deployment tools:
  • Maven
  • Gradle
  • Jenkins
  • Harness
  • GitHub Actions
• Strong understanding of design patterns, object-oriented programming, and software engineering principles.

Development Practices

• Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Test-driven development (TDD) and automated testing.
• CI/CD implementation and DevOps practices.
• Code quality tools such as SonarQube and Checkmarx.
• Version control systems such as Git.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience working in banking, financial services, insurance, telecommunications, or large-scale enterprise environments.
• Exposure to event-driven architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, or Dynatrace.
• Java certifications (Oracle Certified Professional Java Programmer) are advantageous.
