TVS Credit - Assistant Vice President - Corporate Legal - LLB

Job Purpose:

This role is responsible to provide comprehensive legal support to business functions by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documentation, offering legal advisory services, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic business initiatives and projects.

The role ensures that all customer and business agreements comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies while mitigating legal and regulatory risks.

Key Responsibilities:

a) Legal Documentation:

• Draft, review, vet, and negotiate a wide range of business agreements, contracts, vendor agreements, partnership agreements, NDAs, and customer-facing documents.
• Ensure all legal documentation aligns with applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
• Maintain defined turnaround times for responding to documentation requests from business stakeholders.
• Identify legal risks and recommend appropriate contractual protections and mitigations.

b) Legal Advisory:

• Provide timely legal advice and guidance to business teams and internal stakeholders.
• Interpret legal and regulatory requirements relevant to business operations.
• Support business decision-making through proactive legal risk assessment.
• Address legal queries within agreed service levels and maintain stakeholder satisfaction.

c) Regulatory Compliance:

• Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting the organization.
• Ensure customer documentation and business agreements are aligned with applicable regulatory directives, including RBI guidelines and data privacy regulations.
• Drive amendments to existing agreements and legal documents arising from regulatory changes.
• Review and implement appropriate consent clauses and customer disclosures across business processes and digital journeys.
• Coordinate with business functions to ensure ongoing compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

d) Project & Business Support:

• Provide legal support for new product launches and business initiatives.
• Develop and implement documentation frameworks required for new products and services.
• Manage automation and digital transformation initiatives, including Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) integrations with internal systems.
• Assist internal stakeholders in lease registrations, property documentation, and related legal matters.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.
• Experience in contract drafting, legal advisory, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder management.
• Exposure to RBI regulations, data privacy requirements, and financial services documentation preferred.
• 12 - 15 years of experience in corporate legal, banking, NBFC, fintech, or financial services environments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present insights to leadership.
• Proven ability to deliver in a challenging environment balancing multiple priorities.
• Legal Technology and CLM Systems Awareness.
• Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate a high-performing legal team, with effective delegation, coaching, and performance management skills.
