Job Description
Qualification: BA LLB
Job Purpose: To ensure end-to-end management of land-related matters and legal affairs supporting cement plant operations, mining activities, and expansion projects and also ensures clear land titles, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and effective handling of litigation and legal documentation.
Key Result Areas
Supporting Actions
Land Acquisition & Management
- Lead land acquisition activities for cement plants, mines, WHRS, rail sidings, roads, and infrastructure.
- Conduct title due diligence, verification of ownership records, and land documentation.
- Handle land purchase, lease, transfer, conversion, mutation, and registration processes.
- Resolve land-related disputes, encroachments, right-of-way issues, and compensation claims.
- Coordinate with Revenue, Survey, Forest, and Local Authorities.
- Support legal aspects of mining lease applications, renewals, transfers, and amendments.
- Ensure compliance with land-related conditions under mining, forest, and environmental clearances.
- Assist project and operations teams in land possession, access, and statutory approvals.
- Manage litigation related to land.
- Coordinate with external advocates, counsels, and consultants; monitor case strategy and progress.
- Ensure timely filings, hearings, and effective representation before courts, tribunals, and authorities.
- Maintain litigation MIS and periodic reporting to management.

- Revenue and local land regulations
Provide legal opinions and advisory support on land and legal risks.
Documentation & Contract Management
- Draft, review, and vet agreements related to land, leases, right-of-way, compensation, and settlements.
- Support negotiation and finalization of land-related contracts and MoUs.
- Ensure proper custody and maintenance of original land documents and legal records.
- Liaise with government authorities, local administration, and external stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor land and legal teams at unit/cluster level.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders – Projects, Mining, Operations, Finance, and HR.
