Job Description

What is required?

- Commitment and passion towards all things engineering, in general, and power electronics, in specific. Drive towards creating new ideas and bringing them to practice.

- Strong work ethic, bias towards action, and readiness to be outside owns comfort zone.

- Strong background in and keen understanding of power electronics topologies in AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion systems.

Experience in one or more of the following:


1. Experience with designing and putting into practice the multi-kilowatt power electronics hardware and control firmware.
2. Experience with voltage power semiconductor devices of voltage class ranging from 20 V up to 1200 V.
3. Keen understanding of switching characteristics and loss mechanisms in different power semiconductor device technologies such as silicon, SiC and GaN based semiconductors. Experience with designing gate-driver and device protection circuits.
4. Experience with designing magnetic components such as inductors and transformers with knowledge about commonly used magnetic materials and their properties.
5. Experience with designing sensing circuits, analog and digital electronic circuits.
6. Hands-on experience with software tools for circuit simulation (LTSPICE, PLECS, PSIM, Simulink), scripting languages (MATLAB, Python, Octave), PCB Design tools (Altium, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, Eagle). Experience with FEM tools (ANSYS, COMSOL) will also be handy.

- Highly skilled at problem solving and debugging electronic circuits.

- Experience with designing systems for testing, validation, and manufacturing.

- Fair understanding and hands-on experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers will be handy.

- Knowledge about automotive relevant standards applicable in different geographies is preferred.

- B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc or M.E./M.Tech/M.Sc in Electrical Engineering + 3-8 years or more of relevant hands-on hardware experience in power converter design.
