Senior Finance & Accounts Manager

Location: Kampala, Uganda (On-site)

About The Role

We are looking for a qualified and hands-on Senior Finance & Accounts Manager to lead our finance function across multiple business operations in Kampala, Uganda. This is a senior individual-contributor-plus-leadership role — youll own the full finance and accounts function end-to-end, from daily accounting and compliance to audit coordination, payroll, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Management

• Oversee daily accounting operations, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Manage supplier accounts, contractor settlements, and sub-ledger reconciliations
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning across business units

• Ensure timely compliance with all Ugandan tax and statutory obligations
• Handle tax notices, objections, assessments, and reconciliations
• Monitor regulatory changes and proactively advise senior management

• Lead statutory audit coordination and support external auditors
• Prepare audit schedules and ensure timely closure of audit findings
• Maintain accurate financial records in line with regulatory requirements

• Supervise end-to-end payroll processing, including expatriate payroll
• Monitor staff advances, loans, and employee-related financial records
• Train, mentor, and manage the on-ground finance team

• Strengthen internal control frameworks and financial procedures
• Identify operational and financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies
• Drive process improvements across the finance function

What Were Looking For

Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Professional Certification: CA / ACCA / CPA — mandatory

Experience: 3–6 years post-qualification experience in accounting, taxation, compliance, and financial reporting

Industry Preference: Construction, infrastructure, real estate, or manufacturing (preferred, not mandatory)

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Tally Prime or equivalent ERP system
• Strong MS Excel and financial modelling/reporting skills
• Familiarity with Ugandan or East African tax regulations is a significant advantage

• High integrity and professional ethics
• Strong leadership and team management ability
• Comfortable working independently in a multi-entity, fast-paced environment
• Adaptable to working and living in an international setting
