Head - Litigation - LLB/LLM

Key Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Group Head of Legal, the selected candidate will independently deal with the entire litigation responsibilities for the company's operations in India.

• These would include Civil, Competition Law/Anti-Trust, Anti-Dumping, Corporate Fraud, Criminal, Commercial, Environment, Intellectual Property, Cyber Laws, Property laws, Consumer Affairs, Arbitration, FEMA & Miscellaneous Laws.
• He/She will attend the Courts/Tribunals at pan-India level in Civil, Criminal and Anti-Trust etc. matters, as required.

• Draft and vet Written Statements in Civil and Consumer cases, applications etc.; advise internal customers; and educate internal customers by organizing workshops to update and sensitize them about the changing law and regulations.
• He/She will work closely with Group Head to develop and execute litigation and dispute strategies across courts, tribunals, arbitration, mediation, and negotiated settlements, keeping business impact and timelines in mind.

• Manage, external legal counsel and law firms, ensuring quality outcomes and cost discipline; and help strengthen in-house legal processes, documentation standards, and internal capabilities.

Requirements

• Graduate/Post Graduate Law Degree from reputed institutions
• 15-20 years of experience. Combination of litigation experience of about 5+ years as a practicing lawyer in Subordinate/High Courts, and as in-house legal counsel with large manufacturing companies in India will be ideal.
• Strong hands-on experience with managing litigation, dispute resolution and arbitration processes
• Exposure to wide range of laws and court procedures in different states in India.
• Working knowledge of IP laws, contract law, labour and employment laws, and commercial dispute management.
• Demonstrated track record of driving pending legal matters to closure
• Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills. Commercial acumen.
