Role Overview:
As the General Manager - Finance, you will serve as the strategic lead for the UK finance operations, overseeing the end-to-end accounting and taxation lifecycle for a diverse portfolio of clients. You will act as the primary point of escalation and technical authority, guiding large teams to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and adherence to stringent UK regulatory frameworks. This role requires a leader who can bridge the gap between complex technical accounting and client-facing advisory, ensuring that the business delivers high-quality, compliant financial outcomes that drive client trust and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the end-to-end UK accounting and financial reporting processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of management and statutory accounts for clients.
- Oversee comprehensive UK VAT compliance and tax filing procedures, ensuring all submissions meet HMRC standards and mitigate financial risk.
- Lead and mentor large, cross-functional teams, fostering a high-performance culture focused on technical accuracy and professional growth.
- Interpret and implement UK GAAP and IFRS standards across client portfolios to ensure consistency and transparency in financial disclosures.
- Manage complex stakeholder relationships, providing expert financial insights and advisory support to senior management and external partners.
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within the finance function to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery standards.
Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in managing end-to-end UK accounting and taxation, with a deep understanding of UK VAT compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Strong technical proficiency in applying UK GAAP and IFRS standards to complex financial scenarios and reporting structures.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage large teams, with a focus on talent development and performance management in a high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for navigating client expectations and collaborating with cross-border stakeholders.
- Professional qualification as a Chartered Accountant (CA) or ACCA is mandatory to ensure the necessary technical foundation for this leadership position.
