Job Description

Responsible for achieving all performance metrics for a sales region, including sales volume, market share, sales revenue, costs, and operating profit. Also responsible for achieving all production and quality performance metrics, as well as ensuring suitably managed, qualified, trained, and efficient Human Capital.
4. SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide Strategic input and actively contribute to the Annual Business Planning process
  • Ensure annual performance objectives of key managers and employees are tied to business plan initiatives and are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Relevant and Time-bound)
  • Consistently improve organisational capability and effectiveness by coaching, team building, implementing training programs and upgrading talent when necessary.
  • Drive standardization in operating procedures, policies, and practices. (REFER TO ANNEXURE A)
  • Supervise and approve all reports prepared for HO on periodic basis as may be required by Company s Management internally and manage the information for accuracy and reasonableness .
  • Drive aggressive, profitable, sales volume growth and manage the brand / pack / price mix for better margin and profit performance.
  • Improve sales and distribution performance by managing against KBIs for drop size and service frequency. Manage the mix between company owned and third-party vehicles to drive delivery efficiencies and effectiveness, as well as the Urban and UPC Sales contributions
  • Ensure costs and capital expenditure is effectively utilised to drive business growth and manage them in line with business plan commitments.
  • Ensure the bottling production operation is managed efficiently, ensure daily production volume targets and quality standards are met.
  • Ensure the raw materials and spare parts are available as per the production plan and have adequate manpower as per monthly production and maintenance plan.
  • Care should be taken for controls over Breakages.
  • Ensure that all depots are effectively managed and profitably contribute to the Region.
  • Ensure good industrial relations with the work force.
  • Ensure physical safety of employees and safeguard company assets with effective control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, statutory and safety requirements.
  • Actively contribute to the relationship building with Key customers and suppliers, Influential community members and Government officials.
  • Authorize leave and allowances as per company rules.
  • Assign independent members of the Plant staff (e.g. Finance and Sales departments) to perform depot visit on a surprise basis during the month e.g. physical count, sales achievement, coolers distribution and market coverage.
  • On daily basis, receive from the FM a collection and banking report that should be reviewed and signed along with the attached documentation (cash summary report from Cashier, Daily summary report from Sales, Daily Sales summary report from Finance, Bank Cash deposit slip, and Sales collection, cash, banking deposit report from Finance) before sending the daily report of sales, cash and banking to the Head Office -Finance Manager by e-mail.
  • On weekly basis, request the FM to perform a surprise count of the cash in hand in his presence to ensure that it reflects amount posted to in the cash register and computer records. Whenever a surprise check is made, the GM and FM must initial the cash register as evidence of having carried out the count.
  • On weekly basis, attend on a surprise basis to the Fulls and Empties inventory in production and warehouse Departments in the presence of the FM to ensure that it reflects amount posted to in the stock registers and computer records. Whenever a surprise check is made, the GM and FM must initial the stock registers as evidence of having carried out the count.
  • On weekly basis, attend on a surprise basis to the raw materials inventory in the stores in the presence of the FM to ensure that it reflects amount posted to in the stock cards, stock register, and computer records. Whenever a surprise check is made, the GM and FM must initial the stock registers as evidence of having carried out the count.
  • Every two weeks, perform on a surprise basis in the presence of the FM a physical stock count of selected items (valuable items) in the stores of spare parts to ensure that it reflects amount posted to in the stock registers and computer records. Whenever a surprise check is made, the GM and FM must initial the stock cards as evidence of having carried out the count.
  • On a bi/weekly basis, perform an overnight visit to the plant on a surprise basis; the visit should be across the night shift of the plant activities. The next day the GM should issue a written report regarding his visit addressed to the CEO with a copy to the plant files.
  • On weekly basis, check the weekly cash flow report received from the FM for accuracy and should be compared to the monthly projected cash flow.
  • On monthly basis, ensure timely preparation of the monthly MIS report received from the FM for accuracy and a strict review in this regard should be affected.

7. JOB SPECIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION
Degree in sales, marketing, or business administration.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
Fifteen years in sales, marketing, or finance management in a food / beverage company. Experience in a bottling environment is advantageous.
