Job Type: Full-timeRole SummaryThe Engineering Manager - Projects will manage and control discipline engineering activities for ADNOC Group project integration portfolios, including national projects and projects executed with joint venture partners in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on engineering integration across feasibility studies, early design, pre-FEED, FEED, EPC tendering, project selection, technical reporting, project governance, and implementation of ADNOC standards to support successful downstream project delivery and investment decisions.Key Responsibilities
- Manage discipline engineering activities across HQ-managed project integration portfolios.
- Lead engineering input for national projects and projects delivered in cooperation with joint venture partners.
- Manage the engineering development of timely and accurate project status reports for management.
- Oversee engineering progress reporting across downstream project delivery programs.
- Integrate all discipline engineering functions into feasibility studies, early design, pre-FEED, FEED, EPC tendering, and contractor selection activities.
- Ensure ADNOC standards are implemented across all applicable projects and engineering deliverables.
- Lead discipline engineering integration within TAPI projects and provide direction on engineering and project management matters.
- Support project teams, TAPI disciplines, contractors, and partner teams in delivering optimal technical solutions for petrochemical investment projects.
- Ensure designs and proposed technical solutions are achievable, consistent, value-driven, and aligned across the project portfolio.
- Drive engineering solutions that maximize project value and improve the likelihood of successful project implementation at final investment decision stage.
- Ensure project engineering teams work in alignment with ADNOC operations and external stakeholders.
- Support the achievement of the best possible project outcomes for ADNOC.
- Ensure engineering teams identify, understand, manage, and mitigate project and business risks.
- Cooperate with the downstream business development function on project opportunity selection and development.
- Support the identification of strong technical and structuring options for new project opportunities.
- Lead and support techno-economic feasibility studies for downstream growth projects.
- Support pre-FEED and FEED studies to deliver economic value from downstream investment projects.
- Participate in regular project meetings and provide updates on progress, risks, project trajectory, and engineering challenges.
- Address engineering-related questions and provide technical guidance to project stakeholders.
- Provide first-level escalation support for engineering issues that cannot be resolved at project level.
- Manage the application of best-in-class tools, methods, and techniques to enhance project feasibility and return on investment.
- Promote consistent engineering governance, technical quality, and project delivery discipline across the portfolio.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering input to support investment decisions, project readiness, and execution planning.
- Review technical deliverables to confirm alignment with project objectives, business drivers, and downstream development requirements.
- Support continuous improvement in project engineering processes, reporting methods, and technical decision-making.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen project integration, technical quality, and execution confidence.
- Maintain a strong focus on safe, efficient, cost-effective, and standards-compliant engineering delivery.
- Bachelor Degree in Project Management, Engineering, Science, or a relevant discipline with supporting experience.
- Master Degree in Engineering or Science is preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in national oil companies or international oil companies.
- At least 8 years of experience in progressive project managerial or leadership positions.
- Major project management or major engineering experience is essential.
- Demonstrated knowledge of project planning, project governance, and engineering management.
- Strong experience in downstream, petrochemical, oil and gas, or large-scale industrial project environments.
- Experience managing engineering input across feasibility, pre-FEED, FEED, EPC tendering, and project selection stages.
- Strong understanding of discipline engineering integration and multidisciplinary project delivery.
- Ability to lead project teams, contractors, joint venture partners, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of project risk identification, mitigation, reporting, and escalation.
- Experience supporting techno-economic studies, business development reviews, and final investment decision readiness.
- Ability to evaluate engineering solutions for technical feasibility, value creation, return on investment, and implementation readiness.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, reporting, and leadership skills.
- Ability to provide senior-level technical guidance and resolve complex engineering issues across project portfolios.
- Strong understanding of ADNOC standards, HSE expectations, project controls, and downstream project delivery requirements.
