Job Description
Job Title: Lead Engineer Customer Quality & Problem Solving
Experience Required: 6–10 years
Location: Hubli Dharwad
Department: Quality / Customer Quality / Engineering
Reports To: Quality Manager / Senior Manager
Role Summary:
The Lead Engineer – Customer Quality is responsible for driving customer satisfaction by leading structured problem-solving activities, managing customer complaints, conducting deep-dive root cause analysis, implementing robust CAPA/FACA actions, and ensuring compliance to quality systems. The role requires strong analytical skills, cross-functional coordination, and expertise in advanced quality tools.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead customer complaint analysis, response, and closure within agreed timelines
• Perform thorough RCA using 5 Why, Fishbone, Fault Tree, Is/Is Not, and 8D methodology
• Drive CAPA/FACA activities ensuring long-term corrective and preventive actions
• Monitor and improve customer-quality KPIs (PPM, response time, rejections, field failures)
• Conduct MSA (Gage R&R, Bias, Linearity, Stability) and ensure measurement system reliability
• Implement SPC methods to control and improve process performance
• Manage and support PPAP submissions, customer approvals, and documentation
• Interpret and apply GD&T for design validation, inspection, and troubleshooting
• Lead cross-functional problem-solving with Production, Engineering, Supplier Quality, and Design teams
• Participate in customer audits, technical meetings, and quality reviews
• Support continuous improvement initiatives including Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, and Lean tools
• Ensure adherence to ISO/IATF 16949 quality management systems
• Prepare technical reports, dashboards, and improvement presentations

Required Skills & Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of RCA methodologies,8D, CAPA, and structured problem solving
• Hands-on experience with MSA, SPC, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans
• Ability to read engineering drawings and apply GD&T concepts
• Root-cause troubleshooting mindset with strong logical reasoning
• Good communication and customer-handling skills
• Experience in automotive, manufacturing, engineering, or similar industries
• Proficiency in MS Office, QMS tools, and data analysis
• Strong team coordination and project management capability
Educational Qualification:
• B.E./B.Tech/ Diploma
