Job Description

Job Title: Financial Controller

Location: Gorakhpur
Department: Finance
Reports To: CFO / Finance Head / Managing Director

Job Summary

The Financial Controller is responsible for leading the finance and accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, managing budgets, and supporting strategic business decisions. This role plays a key part in safeguarding company assets and optimizing financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
  • Conduct variance analysis and share insights with management.\

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes.
  • Monitor budget vs actual performance and highlight deviations.
  • Provide business insights to support planning and cost controls.

3. Accounting Operations Management

  • Oversee daily accounting operations including AP, AR, GL, payroll, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely closing of books and accuracy in all financial records.
  • Maintain chart of accounts and accounting policies.

4. Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Develop and implement internal financial controls, SOPs, and audit systems.
  • Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF/ESI, and other statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate internal, statutory, and external audits.

5. Cash Flow & Treasury

  • Manage cash flow projections and working capital requirements.
  • Optimize banking relationships and handle fund management.
  • Ensure timely payments and receivables follow-ups.

6. Leadership and Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor the finance team.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (HR, Admin, Sales, Operations).
  • Support senior management in strategic business decisions.

Required Skills & Experience

  • CA with 1015 years of relevant experience (as per org need).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in ERP/Accounting tools (SAP / Oracle / Tally / Zoho / QuickBooks etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and handle multiple priorities.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in jewellery / retail / FMCG / service industry (customize accordingly).
  • Exposure to automation, process optimization, and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
  • Ability to create financial models and support strategic initiatives.
