Regional Manager - Corporate Affairs, CSR & PR West

We are seeking an experienced Corporate affairs/ public policy professional responsible for external stakeholder engagement, shaping industry advocacy and addressing regulatory challenges in

the west region ( Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Daman, Goa). The position shall also be responsible for central coordination in driving CSR function, repository and analytics being based at our

headquarters in Mumbai. She/He shall work closely with the region operations team of West and Corporate Affairs head.

Desired Competencies

Analytical and Articulation skills

1. Understanding of policy interface (Experience on State Excise and commercial taxes policy will be an advantage) with ability to relate the application of laws in commercial and manufacturing businesses.
2. Lead in creating position papers on best practices, enabling tax policies and revenue modelling

Present linkages of best practices to Govt. related to industry pricing concerns and ease of doing business as core to industry sustenance.

1. Create opportunities within the regulatory framework to address trade and tax barriers, securing sensible and sustainable regulatory outcomes

Stakeholder Management

1. Build relationship and reputation with key stakeholders with high level of integrity and business insights.
2. Stakeholder mapping of key functionaries in the respective state Governments like Excise, Commercial Taxes and central agencies as Legal Metrology, FSSAI, Commerce & Industry, Fire & Safety & Pollution Control Board, Irrigation, Health and govt dispensation in general to support other regional resources
3. 
   Facilitate Licensing and operational support on regulatory engagement matters of the sales, manufacturing functions, supply chain etc.
4. Build effective ties and understanding of the market dynamics both at wholesale and Retail trade.
5. Position company as Thought leader on Alco-bev policies within government, key regulators, Industry associations, Think tanks, NGOs and other stakeholders

Industry Advocacy

1. Work with policy makers to leverage the Make in India initiatives and Ease of Doing Business parameters
2. Lead engagements of Industry Associations including providing inputs and direction to industry operational issues, policy development etc.
3. Participate in industry initiatives in creating a level playing field for brands and businesses
4. Support digitization initiatives and reforms in licensing and taxation regime.

Sustainability and PR

1. Build short- and long-term sustainability strategies to achieve identified SDG goals.
2. Lead sustainability initiatives, social and welfare cause around our manufacturing and business ecosystems.
3. Coordinate key CSR activities across states.
4. Leverage PR activities to build corporate reputation and govt partnership.

Desired qualification and experience:

• Bachelors and/or masters degree in the fields of Business Management, Public Policy, Political Science, PR, Communications ideal.
• Strategic thinker and problem solver to lead advocacy work.
• Minimum of 10-15-years experience in corporate relations, regulatory affairs, CSR and having successfully held public policy and/or government relations roles in previous work experience with state govt(s)
• Adept at building and expanding credible relationship with stakeholders in senior position with respective govt(s).
• Has led engagements of Industry Associations including providing inputs and direction to industry issues, policy development etc.
• Be able to take initiatives and build analytics to present policy position papers .
• Experienced at working independently, is agile, and able to influence other internal and external stakeholders to align with regulatory driven goals.
• Resilient and able to successfully navigate ambiguity and demonstrate understanding of complex policy issues and environment.
• Experience in working in highly regulated industries is ideal but not a pre-requisite.
