About The Role:

Due to growth and team expansion, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Data Engineer to join us in New Delhi, NCR. Reporting to Head of Data Operations and Engineering, you will be part of a cross functional squad who are tasked with delivering value to our customers.

As a Senior Data Engineer, your role will involve managing our data infrastructure to support development teams and identify business opportunities. This includes overseeing master data management for accuracy and quality, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of our data.

To support business growth, you will commission and decommission data sets, assist with automation, deployment and monitoring activities, and help maintain and develop our data lakes. You will also manage the reporting environment, ensuring data sources are secure and have proper metadata. As well as developing some dashboards to provide insights into our business operations.

Success in this role requires excellent skills in data management and quality assurance, as well as strong expertise in cloud-based data environments and tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Database and Data Pipeline development (Microsoft Azure and Databricks).
• 
  Database Administration (User creation, Capacity planning, maintenance, etc).
• Managing the Reporting Database including maintaining and running regular monthly reports for the team.
• Automation and Processing – ensuring current and future data sources are loaded and processed.
• Disaster Recovery – ensure backups are in place, tested and secure.
• Assisting with automation, deployment and monitoring activities.
• Development and running of regular reporting and data extracts both for internal processes e.g. data quality, compliance monitoring, and external clients e.g. usage data, analytical datasets.
• Data analysis and load tasks.
• Learn existing systems functionality and topography.
• Improving or suggesting improvements to existing or new systems.
• Data quality and process automation.
• Work on day to day data support tickets raised by various teams.
• Design and implement Valocity’s core property data assets adopting agreed architectures and technologies. Simultaneously improving the understanding, useability, and resultant data quality.
• Works alongside Data Platform Architect to develop or extend data pipeline patterns as the business evolves with new sources and partnerships.
• Propagating knowledge of Valocity’s data assets throughout the wider business thereby dissolving silos of knowledge and building bench strength.
• Assist in developing an internal reference repository of knowledge in the form of a Wiki that is accessible and useable by a wider stakeholder group including Customer and Support teams.
• Assist in the maintenance and implementation of best practice standards for data security and storage.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years accumulated experience in data engineering or operations, reporting and analytics roles.
• Deep understanding of data modelling with both structured and unstructured data types
• Excellent SQL and/or Python. Exposure to other data and engineering, visualization and data science tools will be advantageous such as Power BI.
• Good understanding of Azure Data Platform Solutions including but not limited to Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, Azure Cognitive Services, Azure Data Factory and Log Analytics

• Experience in designing and building REST APIs.
• Competent in Microsoft Office suite of Productivity Applications.
• Used source code control (Git) and knowledge of CI/CD frameworks.
• Self-motivated with a strong desire to produce excellent work for clients and internal needs
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation
• Adaptable with the ability to work across, coach and mentor a broad range of personality types
• Ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders, from business users to technical staff
