We are an established and highly active practice in the Middle East, working for premium clients including sovereign wealth funds, private equity firms, multinational corporations and family offices. This is a fantastic opportunity to join Alvarez & Marsal's established Restructuring practice as an Associate Director.

How you will contribute

Main responsibilities:

• Offer critical support to companies that are underperforming or experiencing an acute liquidity crisis

• Work directly with company management and help to stabilise financial and operational performance

• Work with Senior Directors and Managing Directors to deliver client projects through the management of multiple work streams

• Support business development activities including the creation of client pitches and proposals to win new mandates

Examples of projects include:

• Financial and Operational Restructuring

• Balance Sheet Restructuring

• Cash & liquidity management and forecasting

• Options analysis and contingency planning

• Interim management roles

• Preparation and validation of business plans

• Organisational restructurings

• Profit Improvement (Sales Improvement and Cost Reduction)

• Independent business reviews

Qualifications

• 7+ years experience working in restructuring, preferably in the Middle East and ideally including company side mandates across both financial and operational workstreams

• Ability to manage diverse and complex stakeholder groups

• Ability to implement change for clients and to deliver results across various aspects of their business

• Strong financial modelling skills, including building 13-week cash flow forecasts and integrated financial models

• Able to build trusted, long-term relationships with key stakeholders in the Middle East lending community

• Ability to prepare client pitches and proposals to a high standard

• Proficient in the use of AI tools to support analysis, drafting and research

• Fluency in Arabic is desirable but not essential

• ACA/CPA/ACCA or equivalent qualification is desirable
