Senior Fund Accountant, Fund Services (Mumbai, India)

A leading global fund services provider is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to join its Mumbai team.

This role offers the opportunity to work with international private equity funds, taking ownership of fund accounting, investor reporting, financial statements, and fund operations. Working closely with global stakeholders, you will review key deliverables, support process improvements, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality fund administration services.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review fund accounting deliverables for private equity funds.
• Review NAV calculations, financial statements, and investor reporting.
• Prepare capital calls, distribution notices, and partnership reporting.
• Review management fees, carried interest, and other fund-level calculations.
• Investigate and resolve cash breaks and operational exceptions.
• Liaise with global teams, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  
• Support fund audits and year-end reporting requirements.
• Review deliverables, ensuring quality and timely client delivery.
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance.
• Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and operational efficiency.

Key Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, CA, ICWA, MBA, or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of Fund Accounting experience, preferably within Private Equity or Alternative Investments.
• Strong understanding of NAV, partnership accounting, investor reporting, capital calls, and distributions.
• Experience reviewing financial statements and fund accounting deliverables.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Knowledge of Yardi or other partnership accounting systems would be advantageous.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively within a global operating environment.
