Job Description

Role Purpose

To lead and manage end-to-end admissions strategy at AUB, ensuring achievement of student intake targets, strengthening brand positioning across South India, maintaining regulatory compliance, and enhancing student quality in line with Amitys academic vision and NAAC/UGC norms.

Key Responsibilities

1. Admissions Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and execute annual admissions strategy aligned with AUB growth plans (e.g., intake expansion to 3500+ students as projected in upcoming cycles).
  • Prepare programme-wise seat filling plans based on Faculty-Student Ratio norms and infrastructure capacity.
  • Identify key feeder markets across South India and PAN-India for targeted outreach.

2. Student Recruitment & Outreach

  • Lead outreach initiatives with schools, coaching centres, colleges, and educational consultants.
  • Organize seminars, webinars, career fairs, and campus visits across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala.
  • Drive digital admissions campaigns in coordination with Marketing and IT teams.

3. Team Leadership & Process Management

  • Lead and mentor Admissions Counsellors and Outreach teams.
  • Establish SOPs for counselling, lead tracking, conversion, and admission documentation.
  • Ensure timely communication to candidates to maintain positive brand perception of AUB (important as candidates relocating from other states continuously follow up, as you often mention in HR processes).

4. Data Analytics & Reporting

  • Maintain admission dashboards with conversion ratios, lead sources, programme demand, and forecast models.
  • Provide weekly and monthly reports to VC Office and Pro-VC on admissions progress.
  • Benchmark admissions trends against Bengaluru universities like Alliance, PES, Christ, etc.

5. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure adherence to UGC, AICTE, PCI, and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain proper admission records for accreditation inspections (NAAC, AICTE visits).
  • Coordinate with Finance, HR, and ERP teams (TCS-iON / Amizone integration).

6. Student Experience & Brand Building

  • Ensure smooth onboarding of new students including accommodation support coordination, ID-card issuance, documentation, etc.
  • Collaborate with Student Affairs, IQAC, and Academic Departments to enhance retention and student satisfaction.

Candidate Profile (Mandatory Requirements)

  • Experience: Minimum 15+ years in University/College Admissions leadership.
  • Age Group: Preferably 3845 years.
  • Regional Requirement: Must be from Southern India (Karnataka / Tamil Nadu / Telangana / Andhra Pradesh / Kerala) with strong regional school/college network.
  • Education: Master’s degree required; MBA / PhD preferred.
  • Industry Exposure: Experience in reputed private universities or large higher-education institutions.
  • Languages: Fluent in English and at least one South Indian regional language.

Preferred Competencies

  • Strong understanding of higher education market in Bengaluru and South India.
  • Experience with ERP-based admissions systems (TCS-iON, Amizone, Salesforce, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Data-driven approach to admissions planning.
  • Ability to work closely with VC Office, HR, Finance, and Marketing teams.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Programme-wise seat fill rate.
  • Student quality metrics (cut-offs, diversity mix).
  • Conversion ratio from enquiry to enrolment.
  • Admissions cost per student.
  • Compliance readiness for NAAC/UGC/AICTE inspections.
  • Student onboarding satisfaction scores.
