Senior Analyst, Strategic Finance

About The Role

The Senior Financial Analyst position reports to the Manager, Strategic Finance. This position will primarily provide support in Strategic Finance topics, with a focus on competitive benchmarking, including financial, operational and strategic analysis; responsibilities include performing financial analysis on a wide range of companies across automotive, technology, consumer and other related industries, development and preparation of management summary presentations, supporting valuation analysis, and completing other ad hoc analysis.
What You Will Do

• Produce detailed financial and comparative analysis, including thorough building of company and industry models, focused on obtaining competitive insights to drive Harman performance improvement


• Involved with researching competitor financial and operational information to highlight key drivers of their performance


• Build expertise across a range of companies, develop understanding of competitor performance and their underlying strategies, in-depth financial and news reporting and analysis


• Coordinate with a group of often more senior level employees to support Board of Director materials preparation and other critical analytical and decision-support tasks

What You Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or related quantitative fields required; 3-6 years of finance experience


• Strong understanding and experience reviewing financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cashflow Statement)



• Extensive experience in Microsoft Office software, including high proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; comfortable working with large data sets and creating financial models


• Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting in a global cross-functional environment


• Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and bring it to completion to meet tight deadlines

What Is Nice To Have

• Progress toward CPA/CFA/MBA


• 1-2 year in Corporate Development/M&A role in a global company, equity or macroeconomic research, big 4 audit, private equity, or consulting firm or in an investment banking firm


• Takes ownership and full accountability of assigned work, personal career and skill development


• Proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can effectively work with fellow workers at all levels of a global matrixed organization


• Experience in automotive or consumer electronics industries
