About Us

At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.

About the Role

  • Controls Tester 4.3
  • Role Location: Acacia, Bangalore
  • Role Type: Perm, FTE
  • Work Hours: Standard, Hybrid

The Controls Tester plays a key role in delivering independent 1st line control testing across a portfolio of processes, products, or customer journeys. This role is responsible for assessing the design and operating effectiveness of controls, ensuring testing activities are risk-based, well-governed, and aligned with enterprise risk standards and regulatory requirements.

Working across complex and high-risk environments, the role provides meaningful insights into control performance, identifies areas of risk and non-compliance, and supports informed decision-making. By delivering high-quality assurance outcomes and constructive challenge, the Controls Tester helps strengthen the organisation's control environment and risk management capability.

What will your day look like?

As a Control Tester, you will:

  • Execute independent control testing to assess the design and operating effectiveness of controls across processes, products, and customer journeys.
  • Perform risk-based and judgement-driven testing activities, ensuring assessments are evidence-based and aligned to enterprise standards and regulatory expectations.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and audit-ready documentation, including workpapers, testing outcomes, and governance artefacts.
  • Communicate testing findings to stakeholders.
  • Monitor remediation actions and provide constructive challenge where evidence of sustainable resolution is insufficient.
  • Apply agreed testing methodologies, standards, and tools consistently to deliver high-quality assurance outcomes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by supporting enhancements to testing approaches, analytics, templates, and automation opportunities

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • 6 Plus years of experience delivering control testing, quality assurance, risk assessment, or related assurance activities within a regulated or risk-sensitive environment.
  • Strong knowledge of control testing methodologies, including control design and operating effectiveness assessments.
  • Sound understanding of non-financial risk frameworks, regulatory obligations, governance requirements, and evidence standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify control weaknesses, compliance issues, and process risks through structured analysis and assessment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and generate meaningful risk insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey testing outcomes and challenge stakeholders constructively.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.
  • Experience using risk management systems, testing tools, reporting platforms, or data analytics solutions.
  • Ability to build effective stakeholder relationships, influence outcomes, and support a strong risk and control culture.
  • Exposure to continuous improvement, testing methodology enhancement, automation initiatives, or process transformation activities is desirable.
