JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for a corporate communications professional with a specialization in media relations to execute external communications strategy, strengthen visibility, support in managing reputation across media - print, online, broadcast, social media. This role will help shape a consistent, credible, and differentiated external narrative aligned with overall communications strategy and growth priorities.
The candidate will a person of high integrity, will work proactively with stakeholders and be responsible for implementation of media activities.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Corporate Communication - Media Relations
- Media Outreach: Build and maintain relationships with reporters and editors to secure earned media
- Content coordination: Liaise with internal stakeholders and the content team for drafting of content related to release to media
- Stakeholder engagement: Sustained engagement with stakeholders to understand requirements
- Execution of media plans: Develop communication plans and post stakeholder approval, work on execution of plans within expected deadlines, including arranging of interviews, ensuring desired positioning in the press, and preparing coverage reports.
- Crisis Management: Monitor for negative coverage and develop strategic responses to protect organization's reputation
- Monitoring: Track media coverage metrics and analyze impact

- Collaborating with other marketing and PR professionals: Work as part of the team to to define and promote their company's public image
MAJOR CHALLENGES
- Going beyond business journalists - to build relationships with journalists on the city & crime beat, regional media and feature writers in national papers. Coordination with multiple stakeholders - internal and external
- Work with different teams for collating data, seeking approvals on content, and organizing media engagements

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Educational Qualifications
- Graduate/PG with 10+ years' experience in communication consultancies and/or corporate communications in the BFSI sector
- Experience in managing a team
- Ability to continually prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic, creative, fast paced environment
- Highly collaborative with exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing comprehensive strategic communication, and media relations
- Knowledge of media landscape
- Soft Skills: High adaptability, ability to work under tight deadlines, and strong networking skills
