Job Description
The Controls Software Engineer will be part of the CTO Global Controls Software Development team, responsible for developing standard control software products that support Dematic s conveyor, sortation, and warehouse automation solutions. This role involves close collaboration with global product management, application engineering, and customer service teams to deliver reliable, high-quality control software to customers worldwide.
- Develop and deliver standard control software in line with defined project plans
- Co-develop successive software releases with product champions
- Design, enhance, test, and support control software based on system layouts
- Ensure software quality through structured testing and documentation
- Develop tools for rapid software deployment and reuse
- Improve and stabilise existing systems through performance reviews
- Support customer site commissioning when required
- Contribute to control software standards and knowledge sharing
- PLC programming experience in material handling or intralogistics systems
- Hands-on experience with Siemens TIA Portal
- Knowledge of industrial networks (Profinet, Profibus, ASi)
- Experience with higher-level languages (C, C++, VB, Java)
- Exposure to HMI/SCADA systems and automated testing (preferred)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to collaborate in cross-functional, global teams
- Ownership mindset with focus on quality and deadlines
Bachelor s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (Honours-level qualifications preferred)
