PPC Executive (Production Planning & Control)-Composites

1. Role Purpose

To ensure efficient production planning, material availability, scheduling, and coordination across departments to achieve on-time delivery, optimum resource utilization, and adherence to customer requirements in the composites manufacturing unit.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Production Planning & Scheduling

• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly production plans based on sales orders, priority, and plant capacity.
  
• Convert customer orders into executable shop-floor plans.
  
• Coordinate with Production, QA, Maintenance, and Stores for smooth workflow.
  
• Monitor WIP, machine loading, and manpower utilization.
  
• Track plan vs actual and highlight deviations.
  

B. Material Planning (MRP)

• Review BOMs and ensure material requirement planning for raw materials, consumables, and packaging.
  
  
  
• Raise PRs in SAP/ERP and follow up with procurement for timely delivery.
  
• Monitor inventory levels and avoid shortages or excess.
  

C. Order Management

• Understand customer delivery schedules and align production plans accordingly.
  
• Communicate order status to Sales and customer service teams.
  
• Maintain delivery commitment tracker.
  

D. Data Management & Reporting

• Update daily production reports, WIP status, and machine utilization data.
  
• Maintain production dashboards, MIS reports, and KPI tracking (OTIF, plan adherence, inventory turns).
  
• Support monthly plant reviews with accurate data.
  

E. Coordination & Control

• Conduct daily PPC meetings with Production, QA, Stores, and Maintenance.
  
• Expedite urgent orders and ensure timely dispatches.
  
• Work with QA to schedule inspections and maintain product quality checkpoints.
  

3. Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of PPC processes, capacity planning, and MRP.
  
• Hands-on experience with SAP / ERP systems.
  
• Good understanding of manufacturing workflow (preferably composites, textiles, or engineering goods).
  
• Analytical skills for data interpretation and decision-making.
  
• Proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot, VLOOKUP, MIS).
  
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
  
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
