Urgent Required Safety Officer/ EHS Officer in MNC for Chakan Pune location.

Required Experience: 2 Yrs. to 5 Yrs.

Role & responsibilities

The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by developing, implementing, and monitoring health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and practices. Their goal is to minimize risks, prevent accidents, and ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations.

Regulatory Compliance

Ensure the organization complies with local, state, and national safety laws (e.g., Factories Act, OSHAS guidelines, ISO standards).

Maintain documentation related to safety audits, inspections, and incident reports.

Risk Assessment

Identify potential hazards through regular inspections and risk assessments.

Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA).

Training & Awareness

Conduct safety induction for new employees, contractors, and visitors.

Organize regular safety drills (fire, chemical spillage, evacuation).

Provide toolbox talks and safety refresher trainings.

Incident Investigation

Investigate near misses, accidents, and dangerous occurrences.

Analyze root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Safety Program Implementation

Develop and maintain safe work procedures and practices (SOPs).

Oversee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure availability.

Encourage and ensure that the workplace is designed and arranged so employees can work comfortably, safely, and efficiently reducing strain on the body

Encourage and enforce safe practices for lifting, moving, storing, or transporting materials to prevent injuries

Emergency Preparedness

Coordinate fire safety, first-aid response, and emergency evacuation plans.

Maintain emergency equipment (fire extinguishers, alarms, spill kits).

Reporting

Prepare and submit safety reports, KPI dashboards, and incident summaries to management.

Maintain records of safety committee meetings.

Audits & Quality Management

Support audit compliance for standards such as ISO, IATF, EMS, Safety Etc

Assist in addressing audit observations and follow-ups with internal and external stakeholders.

Ensure all contracts statutory compliance are completed as per policy/ compliance act

Continuous Improvement & Safety

Drive safety improvement initiatives (5S, Kaizen, behavioral safety).

Participate in external safety audits and certification programs (e.g., ISO, IATF).
