Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Software Development and Application Specialist to join our Diagnostic Films business. This role holds significant visibility within the Company and the commercial function, reporting directly to the Business Development Manager.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Conduct live/online sessions to present the Software application to current and prospective customers.
- Troubleshoot, debug, maintain, and enhance existing software while addressing customer problems and resolving issues.
- Issue FilmQA Pro Software License Keys to Purchased License Holders and/or Trail License Requesters.
- Collaborate with management, departments, and customers to identify end-user requirements and specifications.
- Participate in the product development process.
- Design algorithms and flowcharts for creating new software programs and systems.
- Develop efficient and elegant code based on requirements.
- Test and deploy programs and applications.
- Gather and assess user feedback to enhance software performance.
- Recommend improvements to existing software products based on user feedback.
- Create technical documentation to guide future software development projects.
- Contribute actively to organizational goals by taking initiative, executing on objectives, and focusing on performance and safety.
- Enhance organizational capacity and capabilities by fostering collaborative relationships, optimizing diverse talent, and utilizing positive communication and influence with others.
To qualify for this role, you must have the following:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
- 2-3 years of experience working with C Sharp and Python.
- Interest in working with medical device technology.

- Ability to troubleshoot customer issues effectively.
- Strong customer interaction skills.
- Demonstrated responsible and ethical behavior at all times.
- Authorization to work in the US.
- The ability to contribute to the company's value through business understanding, critical decision-making, and innovative thinking.
Preferred skill sets include:
- A degree or significant experience in medical radiation physics / biomedical engineering.
- Background in radiology with basic knowledge of medical imaging.
